CONDITIONS WE TREAT
Foot & Ankle Pain
Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, ankle sprains, and foot pain that stops you moving.

Foot and ankle pain can be debilitating. We are on our feet all day, and when they are in pain, it does not just affect walking. It has a significant flow-on effect on the rest of the body. The foot and ankle are made up of several small bones interconnected by ligaments, muscles, and fascia, all working together to provide the strength, stability, and flexibility needed for everyday function.
Foot and ankle conditions are often undertreated and allowed to become chronic. Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, and ankle instability all respond well to a combination of manual therapy, shockwave treatment, and targeted rehabilitation. Our osteopaths assess the foot and ankle in the context of the whole lower limb and pelvis to identify why the problem developed in the first place.
Foot and ankle treatment addresses local structures alongside the broader biomechanical chain, including the knee, hip, and lower back.

Your first appointment
Your osteopath will take a comprehensive assessment of your foot, ankle, and the rest of your lower limb to identify the full contributing pattern.
Diagnosis and education are central to treatment, including guidance on appropriate footwear, stretching and strengthening, strapping, bracing, or referral for orthotics where indicated. It is equally important that the rest of the body is assessed so that compensated pain from changes in your stride is identified and addressed.
Our osteopaths work well with podiatrists, and strong referrals between the two are actively supported at Whole Health.
