TUMMY TIME, ROLLING AND CRAWLING

MJARNI_WHKIRSTY_0141.jpg

Tummy time is an essential part of your baby’s growth, helping them build the strength needed for rolling and crawling. However, some babies may resist being on their tummy, and there could be a physical reason behind their discomfort.

Rolling, creeping, and crawling are key milestones that reflect your baby’s neurological development. While there is a normal range for when babies typically achieve these skills, some may take longer to reach them. If your baby seems to be struggling with these movements, it could be due to underlying musculoskeletal tension.

Cross-pattern crawling, in particular, is vital for brain development, as it helps form connections between the two sides of the brain. Dr Kirsty (osteopath) carefully assesses the areas involved in tummy time, rolling, and crawling.

By addressing any restrictions, we can help support your baby’s motor skill development, giving them the best possible start.
