Are you feeling a bit stagnant with your exercise routine? Are you looking to try something new? Have you been doing nothing for so long that you aren't even sure you remember what it's like to have a hobby?? WELL look no further than the Whole Health Osteopathy Exercise Alphabet!


If you want to try something new, then this exercise alphabet may give you some ideas may even help provide the following health benefits:


Aerobics: Increases size and strength of the heart, reduces resting heart rate and reduces risk of heart disease


Badminton: Improves balance and co-ordination and can boost upper body strength, core stability and stamina.


Cycling: Helps you lose weight, reduces stress and improves overall fitness. Is also a low impact activity, so good for your joints.


Dancing: Improves condition of the heart and lungs and increases muscular strength, endurance and fitness


Exercise classes: Regular exercise can help you live longer and reduces the chances of developing serious diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.


Football: Increases aerobic capacity and improves cardiovascular health.


Golf: Develops fitness by improving muscle tone and endurance and can help you lose weight and body fat.



Hiking: Builds strength in the glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, and the muscles in the hips and lower legs and strengthens the core.


Ice skating: Easy on the joints because it’s low impact, and improves balance and coordination.


Jogging: Stress release and helps reduce body fat levels.


Kick boxing: works all major muscle groups in a fun and energetic way and improves balance, coordination, flexibility and self-confidence.


Lunges: Strengthen the buttocks and legs.


Meditation: Lowers high blood pressure, decreases any tension-related pain, such as, tension headaches, ulcers, insomnia, muscle and joint problems.


Netball: Improves upper body strength and helps to improve hand-eye co-ordination.


Orienteering: Challenges the mind and helps build self-esteem.


Piloxing: Cardiovascular fitness, muscle toning and sculpting and fat burning.


Quidditch: Harry Potter fans rejoice!! This fiction-turned-reality sport builds cardio fitness and a great way to build up both throwing and catching skills.


Rowing: Burns calories rapidly and increases total-body muscular strength and endurance.


Swimming: One of the most effective all round exercises for toning muscles.



Tennis: Tennis is a whole-body workout, great calorie burner and improves coordination and balance.


Ultimate Frisbee: Increases agility, all round fitness and mood.


Vacuum: Cleaning the house is still exercise especially if you concentrate on controlling your core whilst doing so.


Walking: Increases cardiovascular fitness, strengthens bones, reduces excess body fat, and boosts muscle power and endurance.


Xtreme sport: Not for everyone but can improve self-confidence whilst burning excess calories and toning a multitude of muscles.


Yoga: Improves flexibility, builds muscle strength, perfects posture and protects the spine.


Zumba: Weight loss, body toning, upbeat and fun.
